Chief Estimator w/Steel Company

CHIEF ESTIMATOR (N. CA): Steel company that is strong and has sustained needs a chief estimator/project manager to control/assign flow of new bidding opportunities to subordinates. Evaluate the subjective chances of award, review drawings and specifications prior to starting scope letter and estimate and get familiar with scope of estimate. Determine the bids date, and length of job. and general contractors and/or customers to whom will be bid. Determine which general contractors and/or customers to whom will be bid and the scope letter. Takeoff job using scope letter, drawings and specifications as a guideline. Communicate as needed prior to bid and verify scope etc. Determine whom we are bidding against on each job. Responsible for contractor/customer interaction regarding bid, and relationship building Production orders and coordination with project managers. Pricing of all change orders or revisions.
